Description
An upside down scan of a color photo of a Latin American veteran on the left of and an article in color that is angled to the right ninety degrees titled "For the five men killed in the war: Relatives of the WWII soldiers have a monument in Lincoln Park ; they're hoping for a memorial" by Phil Pitchford for The Press-Enterprise. The portrait of the soldier has a brownish/yellowish tint, and the soldier is wearing his military uniform and cap. On the right corner bottom of the photo (top left right for our perspective), there as an illegible handwriting. The article seems to be a scan of an article that is cut out from a newspaper. The text of the article reads:" Manuel Mollinedo hoped for the best when he was summoned home from the eight grade that day 51 years ago. [...] Also killed during the war were Gus Cabrera in Luxembourg, and Venturo..." The article continues on another page that is not shown as the line afterward is "Please see MEMORIAL, B-7." It ALSO includes a large color image of the family members Gilbert Vasquez, Delia Rosales, and Manuel Mollinedo photographed with the Lincoln Park memorials of their fallen veteran family members. The photo is taken by Steve Medd, and the caption states "Standing beside a stone monument in Lincoln Park where they hope to build a memorial honoring Hispanic veterans are, from left, Gilbert G. Vasquez, Delia Rosales, and Manuel Mollinedo. All are related to someone on the monument."
