The photo is fading out so that the sides of the photo cannot be seen and are erased, so a soldier wearing a uniform in the middle of two other soldiers in uniform, a woman crouching in front of him, and another soldier crouching on the right of the woman are seen. Five people are seen in total. The other people posing for the picture are cut off. The fading out is shaped as half circles on either side of the image. -

Abbie Chavez Orchestra
A picture of Abigail Chavez and his Latin American band, "Abbie Chavez Orchestra" in the radio room. The six members featured pose with their respective instruments. A piano fills one side of the picture and there seems to be a barrier between the orchestra and the camera. Frank Lozano Service Station and Auto Repair

The service station is a drive-through structure with a sign that says "Frank Lozano Service Station", and a sign that says "stop your motor - No Smoking" there are two visible hand crank gas pumps behind Frank. In the background is the Auto Repair Shop with two dark-colored open-sided cars (possibly Model T) in front of the shop. A description of the photo reads: "In the mid-1920s to the early 1930s, Frank Lozano, standing in front of his service station, was the first Mexican American in Riverside to own a Service Station and Auto Repair Shop. A black and white photo from the 1940s and is of the crowning of the Virgin Mary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Riverside, Ca. 24 Mexican American young people posing inside the bell tower. The girls are wearing knee-length white dresses, white hats, and hair scarves. The 3 youngest girls are wearing floral crowns and holding candles with flowers. In the background is a statue of the Virgin Mary surrounded by flowers, a statue of Christ, a crucifix, and 10 tapered candles. Behind the girls, there is a doorway to each side and wooden church pews in front of the girls to each side. -

The girls are all wearing the same outfit of pants with a belt and a light-colored button-up short-sleeved shirt that is tucked in. Front Door of Checkie's Cafe
A picture of Checkie's Cafe in October 1946. The image depicts the front door of the restaurant, with the name above the door and the street number on the doorframe. On the left window, the street number is printed again along with the words "Checkie's Cafe, Mexican Dishes, Specialty." A sign appears to be hung inside on the window and says something obscured by glare on the window and "on ice" beneath it. A coke advertisement is printed on the door handle. La Placita house
A picture of a dilapidated house, overgrown by trees and brush. The house is composed of a wooden structure and a roof, framing an adobe structure. It is the last structure of the La Placita property, originally known as La Placita de Los Trujillos when it was founded in 1845. Founded by Lorenzo Trujillo and located on the east side of the Santa Ana River, it and its neighboring community, Agua Mansa, were the first non-native settlements in the area, containing the first school and church. The community was a recognized part of Riverside until 1926.
