Ysmael Villegas' Grave
A black and white portrait of Ysmael Villegas and a picture of his gravestone that was used in the RCMAHS March 2010 calendar cover page. The left side is a portrait of Villegas smiling in his military uniform and helmet. On the right of his portrait is Villegas' gravestone which has "Ysmael R Villegas/ Medal of Honor/ S Sft US Army/ Mar 21 1924 Mar 20 1945." There is a cross engraved between his birthday and death day, and there is flower picture next to the gravestone. -
Servicemen saluting casket
This photo was used as the Riverside County Mexican American Historical Society 2010 calendar cover. A black and white image of seven servicemen saluting a casket of a late serviceman. Four men stand on the left of the casket, and three men stand on the right of the casket. Behind the casket is a lot of floral arrangements for the late serviceman. -
Tow Company Advertisement
An advertisement/business card for a tow company dating back to the 90s and early 2000s. There are a cartoon flame on the left side of the card and and a photo of a tow truck on the right. The top left reads "24 hours service," and the contact number "(951) 683-7707" plus address "3007 Cridge St. Riverside, CA" are on the bottom left corner. The top right corner states the company name "Double A Towing" and "Sonny" printed underneath it. -
Marching Soldiers
Four armed U.S. soldiers march down the streets of Dt. Riverside, CA as part of a military parade post-WWII. The man standing on the second left of the others holds up the California flag while the soldier on the right of him holds up the American flag. The other two men are holding guns. There are onlookers gathered on the sidewalks of the buildings and where many cars are parked. -
Jose Marquez in Casa Blanca
A black and white picture of Jose Marquez that was used in the RCMAHS August 2010 calendar cover page. Marquez is pictured standing front of a building structure, which is next to a tree and located in a grassy area. -
Preston and Simons Mortuary Business Card
A Preston and Simons Mortuary business card. The middle of the business card states "Preston and Simons Mortuary" with the address "3358 Mission Inn Avenue (formerly Seventh St) Riverside, California 92501-3303 FD-131." There is an etching of the mortuary on the card. The bottom left of the business card includes the phone number "(951) 683-7410" and fax number "(951) 684-0324 FAX." Additionally, William R. Campbell's name is printed on the bottom right-hand corner, with "FDR 833" printed underneath the name. -

Dr. Lulamae Clemons Video Interview
Doctor Lulamae Clemons was born in Weiner, Arkansas on December 27th, 1917 and moved to Pueblo, Colorado when she was young. After moving to Colorado, Lulamae attended Pueblo Elementary School. She graduated from Centennial High School, Pueblo, Colorado in 1984, and later in her life, she met with Doc Ray W. Johnson, who decided to give colored students a chance, in New York during an interview, and moved to Riverside to continue with her career. In this interview, Doctor Lulamae Clemons discusses the hardship and struggles she went through in her early life. As the pioneer African American educator in Riverside, she faced many oppositions from some local board members. Despite the difficulties and obstacles, she ended up earning her doctorate degree in Education, as well as publishing books for the local educators. In the end, she also shared some interesting moments of her interactions with Riverside County students, and some fun facts about herself. -
Dallas Holmes Interview
Dallas Holmes is interviewed about the transition from citrus groves to the large housing developments in Riverside, California. He speaks about the local politics and fiscal greed that ultimately shifted Riverside from the agricultural sector/area to a more industrial, service, and suburban area. He is also proud that he was able to salvage some of the citrus groves from Riverside's past. -
Walt Disney on the set of "Los Tres Caballeros"

The Riverside County Mexican American Historical Society 2010 calendar cover is titled, "Remembering Our Heroes." It has an image of seven servicemen saluting to a casket, standing on either side, of a late serviceman. In the lower left-hand corner of the picture, there is an inscription that reads "Honoring a Fallen Hero." The very bottom of the page states" Riverside County Mexican American Historical Society." -
2009 Calendar Page 28, Back Cover
The back cover page for the 2009 calendar made by the Riverside County Mexican American Historical Society, which features the name of the society, the twelve photographs featured in the calendar, an attribution for the front page photograph, and an attribution to the graphic designer of the calendar, Bernasconi Graphic Design. The photographs date from the 1940s and feature buildings and group portraits. The price of the calendar is also displayed on the lower right hand corner as $10. -
2009 Calendar Page 22 - La Placita House
A picture of a dilapidated house, overgrown by trees and brush. The house is composed of a wooden structure and a roof, framing an adobe structure. The inscription below the picture reads "This crumbling house was one of the last remaining structures on the La Placita property. Founded in 1845 this community was originally known as 'La Placita de los Trujillos' after its founder Lorenzo Trujillo, and was located on the east side of the Santa Ana River. It was later just referred to as 'La Placita.' The La Placita community along with the Agua Mansa community (located on the west side of the Santa Ana River) were the first non-Native settlements and had the first church and school. The elementary school class photo was taken in 1925 at Casa Blanca Elementary School. The class is integrated, featuring Mexican, white, and Asian children. Military Personnel
Pre-WWII deployment image of military personnel. Many Mexican or Latino men and one Mexican or Latina women are in military uniform. Persons are standing and kneeling, some posing with weaponry. The military personnel range from Navy sailors both enlisted and officers along with other branches of the military (possibly Army, Airforce, and Marine Corp), A few individuals are in suits, and other styles of clothing typically associated with masculinity or the U.S. military.
