The La Placita community along with the Agua Mansa community (located on the west side of the Santa Ana River) were the first non-Native settlements and had the first church and school. A portrait of Bob Romero. Bob Romero was part of the extended Romero family that migrated to Redlands at the turn of the century. Bob Romero's father, Abran "Abe" Romero, was a founding member of the Divine Savior Church. A past president of the Redlands Chamber of Commerce, Bob served in the military and worked for many years as an advertising sales manager for the Redlands Daily Facts. On the front is written "To Holey and Romano with love Bob" written on the back, "Bob Romero - Uncle Abe's Son. Former advertising and Redlands Facts President Redlands Chamber of Commerce of - now self-employed."

Ybarra was born: on Sep. 18, 1916, and passed away on April 13, 2007, at the age of 91. He was the Director of the Community Settlement House in Riverside from 1959-1981, an advocate for the Riverside Mexican American Historical Society, and a community leader.
